The CEO of Korean singer Tei's agency, Hero Planet, has committed suicide because of financial difficulties, police say.
A neighbor found the body of CEO surnamed Yeom, 35, hanging in his house in Geumho-dong, northern Seoul, on Dec. 2.
He left a note saying, "It is financially difficult. I am sorry to my family," according to police Saturday.
Yeom had been struggling with a lawsuit involving financial issues.
"Yeom had set up a cosmetics company before starting an agency but had struggled from the debt from the cosmetics company," said an industry official. "He had hoped to make a breakthrough with the agency, but I don't think it worked out well."
In 2009, Tei's manager, surnamed Park, was found dead in his car. Park had sent a message saying "Sorry" to his contacts and burned charcoal in his vehicle.
After learning of Yeom's death, Tei uploaded a post on Instagram saying, "Thank you, this past weekend we sent him on his way."
