Nine Oriental medicine clinics will receive state subsidies of up to 25 million won ($22,000) to help attract foreign patients.

The clinics will use the subsidies from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute to open foreign-language websites, and to launch marketing and promotional campaigns targeting overseas patients.

The beneficiaries are Kyunghee Sonamu Oriental Clinic, Nasaret International Hospital, Four Seasons Korean Medicine Clinic, SAM Hospital, Osungdang Korean Medicine Clinic, Onbody Clinic, Haedrin Oriental Medicine Clinic, Lee Moon Won Korean Medicine Clinic and Soram Hospital of Korean Medicine.

These clinics specialize variously in treating hair loss, immunity problems, facial care or female ailments, according to the ministry.

Last year, seven Oriental medicine clinics here benefitted from the program, which helped boost the number of foreign patients from 902 to 2,587.
