Woman survives polar bear attack

This footage shows a polar bear attacking a woman, who amazingly manages to escape almost unscathed.

The woman identified as Lyudmila, was lying in an alley with her jeans around her ankles in Yanranay, northern Russia.

It is unclear what she was doing in the alley, but as she tries to get up a polar bear leaps from behind the building and starts to maul her.

People can be heard shouting and throwing objects to scare the bear away.

As the bear retreats, the woman slowly gets up and without even pulling up her jeans she walks off quite casually. According to a local blog, Lyudmila was later treated in hospital for minor cuts.
