Hormone expert Alisa Vitti claims 3 p.m. is the best time for having sex, the British Metro reports.

Vitti, author of the hormone guide “WomanCode,” says 3 p.m. is the ideal time for both sexes’ because their libidos are highly synchronized at that time.

She explains that at 3 p.m., women have high levels of the hormone cortisol, which increases alertness and energy, while men tend to give women “emotional support” during sex because of increased oestrogen levels, which make them more emotionally present.

Vitti says men would prefer to have sex in the morning because testosterone, which induces sexual arousal and performance, are produced while sleeping.

But she points out, “The combination of decreased testosterone levels and increased oestrogen levels actually makes men more emotionally present during sex and better able to focus on a woman’s needs and satisfaction.”

Meanwhile, she claims women’s sexual desire soars during the 10 days or so after ovulation.
