A battle between lionesses and a herd of wild black buffalo has been captured on film.
Photographer Julia Sundukova snapped the fight in the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania, Africa.
In the picture, the lionesses are stalking the pack of wild buffalo.
Two buffalos become separated from the herd and the hungry lionesses pounce.
But at least 14 buffalos soon approach the lionesses to help the two in trouble.
The pack chases the lionesses away.
“Nine lionesses and three lions failed to catch any buffalo,” Sundukova said. “It was very impressive and beautiful to watch.”
