75- year-old nurse chooses euthanasia

English woman Gill Pharaoh, 75, died at a euthanasia clinic after deciding that getting old was “awful.”

Before the euthanasia, she interviewed with the Sunday Times to explain her motivation.

Pharaoh stated that she felt healthy up until she was 70, but from then on she was infected with shingles and she felt her health declining. She decided to spend her last days in Switzerland with her husband. After a peaceful time there, she passed away at the Lifecircle clinic in Basel, Switzerland.

The number of people choosing euthanasia has recently increased. The Telegraph reported that 20 percent of the people euthanized in Switzerland, a country that legally permits mercy killing, are British.
