An American comedian Sarah Silverman is suffering a backlash from male netizens after she tweeted “Ten Rape Prevention Tips.”
The tweet, posted Mar. 20, is the 44-year-old Silverman’s rather comical and satirical joke that targeted male rapists.
Retweeted almost 6,500 times by Thursday morning, the tips advise men harboring a possible intention to rape women “Don’t put drugs in women’s drinks,” “When you see a woman walking by herself, leave her alone,” “If you are in an elevator and a woman gets in, don’t rape her,” and so on.
News outlets reporting on Silverman’s controversial tips said the tweet has caused male netizens to criticize her for being a “sexist” and indiscreetly treating all men rapists.
