'Dressgate' triggers uproar here as well

Celebrities are jumping into the fray of “dressgate,” prompted by a photo of a dress uploaded on Tumblr that went viral and triggered a worldwide debate about its color.

Celebrities here responded to the meme ㅡ including BoA, the South Korean singer and actress, who took to her Instagram account to express her opinion.

"Whatever color other people may see, I see white and gold more clearly ㅡ maybe with a bit of blue in it, too," she wrote.

Another K-pop star Park Hyung-sik of musical group ZE:A wrote on Twitter, "Wait a minute, what is this? I can see both!"

"Somebody told me that it's white and gold when you're stressed out ㅡ and it's blue and black otherwise, I'm lost," he wrote.

Jong-hyun of K-pop idol group Shinee tweeted, "White and gold? I say blue and black!"

The level of attention coming from K-pop stars has also provoked their fans.

In response, one fan wrote, "I see it as white and gold, but if Jong-hyun sees it as blue and black, I'm going to go with him!"

G-market also took this chance to advertise a product.

"We take this opportunity to let you know, we're selling this dress at 88,290 won," the shop wrote on Twitter, uploading a picture of a similar dress to the one in the photo.

The controversy triggered a sales frenzy for the outfit, according to reports.
