Boy dies following Facebook argument

A Chicago boy has died after a Facebook confrontation between his sisters and a group.

Anthony Diaz, 13, was shot dead on Sunday (local time), police told the Chicago Tribune. Diaz reportedly left home at night with his older sisters and recorded an argument between the sisters and the group about a Facebook posting. Someone then shot him several times.

Anthony’s stepfather, Ralph Otero, said his son was “a good student” and “didn’t give us any headaches,” according to NBC Chicago.

An investigation is under way, but no one has been arrested.

Otero said the family recently moved to the area for safety reasons.

“We just moved there from a bad area because it’s supposed to be better and this is what we got,” NBC Chicago quoted Otero as saying.
