'Miracle cat' reappears five days after burial

A “miracle cat” has reappeared five days after it was hit by a car and buried by its owners.

The cat, named Bart, was seriously injured in the accident in Florida, leading his owners to believe he was dead.

The grief-stricken owners buried Bart on their backyard.

But much to their surprise, the cat showed up at a neighbor’s door five days later.

He reportedly clawed his way out of the grave. His owners could not afford to pay for his hospital treatment, so they brought him to a local animal center.

Bart was treated at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay for a broken jaw and facial wounds. His destroyed left eye had to be removed.

“Bart The Miracle Cat has successful surgery! He was a brave boy and is now resting comfortably. He is spending the night with our good friends at Tampa Bay Veterinary Emergency Service,” the humane society said Wednesday on its Facebook page, “He will return to us in the morning and need a week or so to recover before going back home!”
