Cable channel HBO will screen a documentary about late rock Star Kurt Cobain, which his daughter has produced, Time magazine reports.
Titled “Montage of Heck” ― the same title as a mix tape Cobain made in the 1980s _ the film has been in the works more than five years.
With Brett Morgan directing, the film is said to be the only documentary about the Nirvana front man that Cobain’s family has fully authorized. Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of Cobain and wife Courtney Love, is executive producer.
Morgan said he had found more than 200 hours of unreleased music, art projects, home movies and writings.
He said the documentary would “paint an intimate portrait of an artist who rarely revealed himself to the media.”
After the HBO screening, Universal will release the film internationally next year.
