American comedian Adam Newman recently had a standup appearance interrupted by a police arrest, and was told to shut up when he asked what was happening.

And he caught the whole incident on video.

The incident unfolded during Newman’s set at the UCB Theatre in New York. In the video uploaded to Tumbler, several police officers are seen making a commotion while arresting a man.

When Newman tries to talk to the officers, he is told to “shut the (expletive) up.”

According to reports, the police detained a homeless man suspected of burglary.

Newman posted the video Tuesday and said “sometimes the NYPD busts in while you’re on stage trying to make a late night submission video, arrests an audience member, then yells at you to, ‘Shut the (expletive) up!’ And what are you supposed to do, not post it?”
