Milking contest rigged, says former winner

The former winner of the World Hand Milking Championship has boycotted this year’s contest in northern Italy, claiming the event is rigged and that the cows are not tested for dope.

Last year’s champ Maurizio Paschetta, said, “I would have expected strong anti-doping checks on the cows and milkers to protect the animals and guarantee transparency of the top positions.”

Gianmario Ghirardi, 31, milked 8.7 liters from his cow Mirka, to beat 43 other milkers in Lenna last week.

Machines produce an average 25 liters in a day, while hand-milking produces only two liters.
