'Naked' cycling uniforms go viral

Listen

The skin-toned uniform worn by the Colombian women’s cycling team is under controversy because it makes the athletes look partially naked.

The team debuted the uniform at the Tour of Tuscany in Italy. But Brian Cookson of the International Cycling Federation (ICF) called the clothes “unacceptable by any standard of decency.”

“This has turned the sport into a joke. Girls stand up for yourselves – say no,” tweeted U.K. Olympic cycling medalist Nicole Cooke.

It remains unclear whether the Colombian team will appear for a race in Spain next weekend.
