Throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at a Major League Baseball game can’t be easy. Thousands of fans are watching, making the task of tossing a ball sixty feet into a catcher’s mitt tougher.
But the worst of these throws leave fans scratching their heads.
The most recent case was the pitch by rapper 50 Cent at a game between the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates at Citi Field in New York, Tuesday.
The musician, who was on hand to promote an upcoming concert, steps toward the plate as he throws, but the ball goes sailing far to his left side.
The rapper didn’t seem perturbed, grinning wildly after the pitch.
Some said the throw was the worst pitch ever, but the subject is highly debatable.
Olympic legend Carl Lewis’ throw in 2003 is among the most prominent first-pitch fails ever.
And then there was the throw by Girls Generation member Hwang Mi-young, who goes by the stage name Tiffany.
