Video shows Beyonce's sister attacking Jay Z in elevator

The Internet erupted Tuesday morning (KST) over a video clip showing Solange Knowles, sister of pop megastar Beyonce, apparently attacking her brother-in-law Jay Z in an elevator.

The security-camera footage published by TMZ appears to show Solange, Beyonce, Jay Z and a group of men believed to be bodyguards entering the elevator to leave the Met Gala in New York City.

Words seem to be exchanged and then Solange suddenly jumps at Jay Z and begins striking him before a bodyguard holds her back. Beyonce calmly stands in the corner of the elevator during most of the altercation.

The Standard, the hotel where the incident is believed to have occurred, lamented the leaking of the video as a breach of its security system and said it was investigating the circumstances surrounding the situation.

Representatives of Solange, Beyonce and Jay Z have yet to formerly comment on the video.
