Lucky tree trimmer survives after chainsaw jumps on neck

A tree trimmer survived even after a chainsaw got onto his neck, missing all the major arteries, reported Standard Digital News on Sunday.

James Valentine, 21, from Pittsburgh, was working up on a tree when an electric chainsaw became a deadly weapon and struck him on the neck.

“I felt it and I shut the saw off because it was in me and it was still running,” said Valentine to CNN.

A colleague climbed up the tree to help get him down and co-workers tried to limit the amount of blood loss until the emergency team arrived.

When Valentine was rushed to the hospital nearby, doctors were surprised to see how the saw miraculously missed all the major arteries and saved his life. The hospital released images of Valentine’s X-ray photos to spread the lucky news.

Despite the incident, Valentine plans to go back to his job, saying “I’m a tree climber, it’s what I do.”
