The dating website for married people Ashley Madison is set to launch as early as this month.
The website is well known for its nicknames such as “a website specialized in infidelity” and “a site for the players.”
Despite the controversy, the site has garnered more than 80,000 members in August alone in Hong Kong and Japan saw their yearly membership registration reach a million.
Company founder Noel Biederman says the consequences arising in relation to the use of his website is up to individual users.
“I’m not encouraging people to cheat. I just saw there’s a niche market that could serve as an alternative when the couple thinks that divorce is not the ultimate solution for their dissatisfied marriage,” he said.
Men should pay to talk to the women they are interested in, but for female members, all the service is free.
