Raunchy Olympics makes 'condom shortage inevitable'

Global citizens rave over Olympians displaying patriotic performances, but odds are scant that they also know about the athletes’ off-the-record dormitory lives fraught with lust for sex.

America’s Ronda Rousey, a bronze medalist judoka in the 2008 Beijing Olympic and current mixed martial artist, once described the Olympic Village as “debaucherous” and “a land of promiscuity.”

American swimmer Ryan Lochte also said 70 to 75 percent of Olympic athletes have sex in the village.

Cases from the past vindicate Olympians’ fornicating habit.

Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt slipped during an official speech that he slept with three female athletes from Swedish volleyball team after winning his 100 meters sprint in the 2012 London Olympic.

America’s basketball “dream” team member Lebron James repeatedly approached a female American swimmer to coax her into having a one-night stand until being told off.

According to American news outlet Fox Sports, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) distributed 100,000 condoms to participating athletes during the Olympics or even more if necessary.

The 2012 London Olympics had stocked some 150,000 condoms. The 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics had initially prepared 100,000 condoms but had to supply more after they ran out in just a week.

In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, approximately 400,000 free condoms were handed out to athletes, 100,000 from the IOC and the rest offered by hotels in the hosting city.

The IOC says condoms are distributed to prevent athletes from being infected with Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) or other diseases transmitted through sexual intercourse.

American snowboarder Jamie Anderson who won gold at the Sochi Olympics recently told US Weekly that athletes can scout dates with a smartphone app called “Tinder.” Using GPS locations, the app allows athletes to browse through other athletes in vicinity.

Considering Sochi drew from across the world roughly 3,000 athletes in prime physical conditions and gathered them in a limited living space, chances are one might easily hook up with his/her match using the app.
