81-year-olds write love letters everyday for 40 years

Everyone has fond memories of writing love letters; in their teens and when they fall deeply in love and want to find a way of expressing their emotions.

For an 81-year-old couple living in the state of Washington, it was more like writing love letters everyday for 40 years ― that is about half a century.

Joe and Helen Heskess began writing the love letters to each other in February 1974 when they went on a weekend trip together.

Since then, it has continued for exactly 40 years, reported Kiro-TV in an interview in which the elderly couple said it became a natural thing.

They said it was about when they were married for about 20 years and were going through rough stages in their marriage and writing of the letters soothed their emotions.

And over the next 40 years, the couple exchanged as many as 29,000 letters, That is a lot of letters.
