Some people will go out of their way to do well in school exams. For one man living in Saudi Arabia, it has meant being stuck for 20-odd years with a cheat sheet in his ear.

According to reports from the Middle Eastern media, the unidentified person visited the hospital last week because of pain in his ear.

And quite unexpected, doctors found a crumpled piece of paper that was apparently used for cheating during a high school exam.

“Since then, I went to college, got married and had children, all the while forgetting that I hid the cheat sheet in my ear,” the man said with a laugh.

As time passed, the piece of paper apparently caused an infection in the ear, thus creating more and more pain, doctors who treated him said.

While the man did commit an academic crime which eventually got him into a university, the “statute of limitation” has probably run out.

“I will keep the cheat sheet as a reminder that crime does not pay and to guide my children in such a way that they don’t have to end up with a serious ear infection,” the man was quoted as saying.
