Indian 'sorcerer' decapitated baby, even drank his blood

An Indian man was sentenced to death for decapitating a baby and drinking the child’s blood during an occult ritual in West Bengal, Indian media reported.

Lakshmi Kanta Sarkar hung a severed head of a baby in a tree inside his makeshift temple at a graveyard.

He is a self-taught practitioner of Hindu spiritual studies specialized in black magic. He was known as a backstreet abortionist who practiced black magic.

When Sarkar was found, he was beaten so badly that police had to intervene, The Times of India reported.

Sarkar received the death penalty last Monday after 17 witnesses testified against him.

Although blood sacrifice is extremely rare in India, similar cases have recently been reported.
