A Hong Kong real estate tycoon has doubled the amount he will reward a man who succeeds at seducing his daughter, South China Morning Post reported.
In 2012, Cecil Chao set the reward at 72.7 billion won for a man who succeeds in marrying his lesbian daughter, Gigi Chao, but the total has now increased as not a single man has been successful so far.
About 20,000 suitors proposed to Gigi but she has rejected them all.
However, in a desperate attempt, the father has doubled the amount to 142.8 billion won.
Cecil claims his daughter to be “solo” but in 2012, she married Sean Eav, whom she had been dating for years prior to marriage.
Regarding the offer, Cecil said, “I do not wish to interfere with my daughter’s private life. I only hope for her to have a good marriage and children as well as inherit my business.”
“I do not think any amount offered by my dad could make a man seduce me. Instead, I would love to befriend with a person who is willing to donate to my gay rights group Big Love Alliance,” said Gigi.
Although she was upset about the news, she still showed her affection for her father, saying, "It's really sweet of him to do something like this as an expression of his fatherly love. I love you, dad."
Gigi Chao is a highly respected LGBT activist in Hong Kong and a founding member of the local gay rights group Big Love Alliance.
