Leading US hospitals to active use Oriental medicine

Some of leading hospitals in the United States will actively prescribe Oriental medical and medical techniques, the Journal of American Family Medicine said in its recent publication.
According to the report, institutions like the Harvard University hospital, John’s Hopkins University hospital and the MD Anderson Cancer Center will increasingly prescribe acupuncture treatment and herbal medicine.
According to a report in AJFM on current trends in integrated treatment, more than 30 leading hospitals are encouraging the application of Oriental medicine and medical techniques on cancer and other patients.
In many of the cases a combination of Western and Oriental medicine and medical techniques was used but there is an increasing emphasis on the application of Oriental medicine.
The report said 100 of the 162 doctors surveyed have been prescribing Oriental herbal medicine and medical techniques with as many as 155 prescribing acupuncture.
