UK PM says bomb found at G8 summit

It was the Loch Erne resort west of Enniskillen in Northern Ireland, where a G8 Summit took place on June 18. After the wrap-up of the summit, British Prime Minister David Cameron revealed a chilling fact that a bomb was discovered from the site prior to the summit.

Prime Minister Cameron posted on Twitter that “Now that G8UK is over, I can reveal a bomb was found in Loch Erne," and "It was an American from WWII. Apparently they had a practice mortar range here!"

The Northern Ireland police explained that they found a suspicious piece of material on June 12 during the inspection of the site, and afterwards confirmed that it was munitions used during the WWII.

During the summit, thousands of police units protected the site to prevent possible clashes with protesters and even restricted flights passing over the site.

With exercise of such security efforts, the recent summit has been acknowledged as the most peaceful one among the last couple of G8 events.
