Male soldiers are all about masculinity, or so we thought.
German male soldiers’ are developing exactly the opposite appearance.
Intensive training caused them to develop chests.
It is a cause of great distress and concern to the German military brass.
The soldiers grew breasts because they repeatedly slap on the left side of their chests with their rifles during drills.
This stimulated hormones on that side only, causing one side of the chest to grow, according to Prof. Bjorn Krapohl, director of plastic surgery at Berlin's military hospital.
According to the German Herald, 74 percent of the soldiers expressed concern about breast growths to the army medics.
"They need to change the way they drill. The constant slamming of the rifles against the left hand side of the chest is clearly a significant factor." said Prof. Krapohl.
The military has stated that they are looking over the problem and will change the way that the soldiers drill if that is found to be the source of the condition.
A spokesperson for the military stated that all members of the military who were affected with the condition were being treated and assessed individually.
