On Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. in Shanxi Province, China, a woman was stabbed to death on the streets, but no passers-by came forward to help her, Hong Kong’s Mingpao reported Wednesday, quoting Citysun. In October, a similar tragic death occurred in Guangdong after a car hit a 2-year-old girl and fled while no passers-by reached out to help her.
Innocent lives have taken away amid extreme disinterest in others, critics said, adding that it seems that it is above the limit.
A man suddenly stabbed a woman passing by with a knife as many as 26 times and then started to kick her even though she was bleeding badly, the report said.
While he was stabbing her, there were a lot of bystanders at the scene but no one made any move to stop him. Some of them even passed by as if nothing was happening. The street was covered with her blood but no one paid any attention until police came, it said.
The suspect was apprehended near the spot and an investigation is underway. The victim died of her wounds as she was moved to a nearby hospital.
Police said that the suspect and victim were complete strangers and that the suspect might have mental problems.
Many Chinese are expressing anger and grief at the tragic incident. A Chinese Internet user said, “How and why did we become such a heartless and unsympathetic people?”
