Parents keeps their dead son in refrigerator

A Chinese couple has lived for months with their dead son kept in a fridge because they couldn’t afford to pay for the funeral services.

According to local media, a reporter found the body of a six-year-old body frozen when he opened the door of the refrigerator at the couple’s home last September.

A paper reported that the couple in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region bought a new refrigerator for 3,000 yuan (about 540,000 won) one day to keep their son’s body.

The boy went out to play near a water tank for plants. Though the tank was shallow for adults, it was deep for the 130 cm young boy. His father pulled him out when he got drowned, but the boy lips were pale and his face was already lifeless.

The boy was taken to a nearby hospital, but he was not saved even after an hour long attempt of resuscitation. The family faced another tragic problem after the death of their son. The parents had to pay 27,000 won a day, which they could not afford, to keep the lifeless son in the hospital.

After discussion, the parents decided to buy 540,000 won freezer to the keep the body at home.
