An elementary school in California is taking a lot of heat from the citizens after the school district invited the now mainstream actress to read to a group of first graders as part of a reading program.
TMZ reported Saturday that former porn star Sasha Grey was invited by Emerson Elementary School in Compton County, Los Angeles, to the "Read Across America" program on Nov. 2, enraging concerned parents.
Grey had been an adult film star until two years ago. But she has become a major actress appearing in a mainstream shows, such as HBO’s “Entourage” and “The Girlfriend Experience.”
The controversy erupted as she put a story on her twitter, “I went to Emerson Elementary School as a one-day teacher. It read an interesting book to a group of first and third grade children.”
Upon reading the content on the twitter, parents strongly protested against the education authorities about the participation by the ex-porn actress in the reading program.
Although the Compton Unified School District flatly denied that it invited her to the school as a one-day teacher, TMZ revealed a video in which she was reading a book to children on its Website.
