The most effective way to burn fat is to run. The fat storage cells are only released by cardiovasular exercises; therefore, basic workouts like walking, running, jumping and climbing are most straight forward way to lose weight. This is a well known fact, but many still have trouble burning their excessive calories because they get bored from simple running. However, a fitness trainer Tony Gallagher suggests a solution to stay in shape.
“Music is a perfect running companion.” said Gallagher according to the Telegraph. The music diverts people’s mind from giving up in the middle. He also said, “It makes training seem more fun. Psychological studies have proved that the music acts as an emotional and physiological stimulant (psyching you up).” His solution was proven to be correct in the past and backed up by world class athletes.
Park Tae-hwan, Korean gold medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics, always shows up to the swimming matches with his big headphones and he listens to the music till the moment he is forced to take them off.
Middle distance runner Dame Kelly Homes claimed that she listened to Alicia Keys’ song in her pre-event routine before she won two Olympic gold medals in Athens in 2004. Athletes are able to keep their pace and improving their records by synchronising running steps with music beats, Gallagher said.
Haile Gebrselassie, the Olympic gold medalist from Ethiopia, said that he often requested the techno song “Scatman” be played over the sound system during his races, because the tempo matched his stride rate.
Gallagher emphasizes the importance of not stopping the exercise and said, “Aim to exercise regularly, a minimum of three to four times per week if possible.”
