After $1 mil. lottery win, US man wins $2 mil.

A man from Missouri won $1 million with a ``100 Million Dollar Blockbuster'' scratch ticket in June. And this month, he won $2 million with a ``Mega MONOPOLY'' scratch ticket, the Associated Press reported, quoting lottery officials.

Ernest Pullen, 57, a retired military man who was working at the help desk for a telecommunications company before retiring after the first lottery win, was quoted as saying that he considers himself to be a ``lucky guy.''

John Wells of the Missouri Lottery said the chances of winning $1 million in the ``$100 Million Dollar Blockbuster'' game are 1 in 2.28 million, the report said. The odds of winning $2 million in ``Mega MONOPOLY'' are about the same.

The chances of winning both? Wells said because they're independent games, it is impossible to calculate the odds, according to the report.

Pullen recalled a dream six years ago in which he won a lot of money, AP said. Even after the $1 million win in June, he didn't feel like the dream was complete.

He received $700,000 for the June winner and will get about $1.3 million for the September winner ― after taxes, the report said.

복권에 이처럼 연이어 당첨될 확률은 얼마나 될까. 보도에 따르면 미주리 복권사에 근무하는 존 웰스씨는 100만달러 복권의 경우 당첨 확률이 약 228만분의 1이고, 200만달러 복권도 비슷한 정도라고 말했다.

두 개에 모두 당첨될 확률은 복권 종류가 서로 달라 계산이 불가능하다고 웰스씨는 설명했다.

풀렌씨는 6년 전 돈을 많이 버는 꿈을 꾼 적이 있다면서, 이번에 당첨된 복권에 당시 꿈속에 나타난 번호가 적혀 있었다고 말했다고 AP, 연합통신이 전했다.

세금을 빼고 나면 풀렌씨가 수령하는 금액은 각각 70만달러와 130만달러다.
