Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon said Wednesday that the city is open to jointly hosting the 2036 Olympics with North Jeolla Province, but stressed that any proposal should be competitive enough to win International Olympic Committee approval.
“We are prepared to accept any joint hosting arrangement North Jeolla proposes,” Oh said during a press conference at City Hall.
He said the Seoul Metropolitan Government would not insist on changes as a condition for participating, urging the provincial government to formally propose one if it wishes.
