MILAN — Speed skater Lee Na-hyun finished in 10th place in the women's 500 meters Sunday for her second top-10 performance at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.

Lee clocked 37.86 seconds at the Milano Speed Skating Stadium in Milan, ending up 0.59 seconds back from the bronze medalist from Japan's Miho Takagi.

Lee had earlier finished in ninth place in the 1,000m. This is the first Winter Games for the 20-year-old.

In the 500m, Lee had the eighth-fastest start with 10.47 seconds over the first 100m but came home in 37.39 seconds, the slowest mark among those inside the top 10.

Kim Min-sun, the one other Korean in action, finished in 14th place with a time of 38.01 seconds. The three-time Olympian couldn't overcome her slow start, as she needed 10.61 seconds to get to the 100m point.

Femke Kok of the Netherlands won the gold medal with an Olympic record time of 36.49 seconds. Her Dutch teammate, Jutta Leerdam, got the silver, after beating Kok for the gold in the 1,000m.
