Jung Chan-sung, better known as “the Korean Zombie,” will face former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar in the main event on UFC Fight Night 165 in Busan next week.

After suffering a knee injury, Brian Ortega was forced to pull out of his Dec. 21 featherweight bout against Jung, who was later matched against Edgar instead.

In an Instagram message to fans, Jung thanked Edgar for taking the fight at short notice.

“I pushed ahead with fighting him (Edgar) because I did not want to leave any regrets, given that I'm in great condition now,” he wrote. “Thank you for coming to Busan. I'll see you all in Busan!”

Jung (15-5) is coming off of an impressive TKO win over Brazilian Renato Moicano in June ― a rebound from a bitter KO loss at 4:59 of the fifth round to Yair Rodriguez. Since his return to the Octagon following mandatory military service in South Korea, Jung has had two wins and one loss.

In July, Edgar (23-7-1) lost to Max Holloway by a unanimous decision in an unsuccessful bid to become UFC featherweight champion. Before taking the opportunity to face Jung, Edgar was preparing for his bantamweight debut against Cory Sandhagen at UFC Raleigh in January.

A win over Edgar, one of the top fighters in his division since 2007, would put Jung right in line for a title shot.
