479th Turtle Marathon set for Saturday
The 479th Turtle Marathon, co-hosted by The Korea Times and its sister newspaper the Hankook Ilbo, will be held this Saturday. The event is sponsored by Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, the Korea Racing Authority, Ktoto and High1 Resort.
Participants will walk along Mount Nam's trail. The six-kilometer walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Baekbeom Square.
Various events and activities will take place at the Square, including photo-ops with Miss Korea and a performance by the five-member K-pop girl group H.U.B as well as Paju Jangdan soybean rice cake tasting.
Free refreshments and coffee will be provided for participants ahead of the event. All participants will be offered free drinks provided by Nongshim midway through the course.

Certifications for three hours of volunteer work will be issued to elementary, middle and high school students who take part in the walkathon.
