Ghana's skeleton racer compares himself with rabbit escaping the lion

African skeleton racer Akwasi Frimpong is proud of a posting on his instagram by a South Korean fan who thanked him for inspiration.

The fan of the Ghanaian Winter Olympic participant was impressed by how the athlete gave up so many things to achieve his dream. Frimpong's “rabbit theory” was most fascinating.

The theory refers to the illustration on his helmet that shows a rabbit escaping from a lion’s mouth. The racer compared him with the rabbit and it is not hard to know the rest of the story.

“(I am) grateful to contribute to helping others go after their wildest dreams,” said Frimpong. “The story behind my ‘rabbit theory’ helmet at the Olympics is helping millions of people around the world to dare to dream and never give up.”

Frimpong was the only athlete from Ghana at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics and also the second African male to compete in the Olympic skeleton.

He sold vacuum cleaners to make a living and fund his Olympic dream, according to several sources.

He finished last in a field of 30 at PyeongChang.
