Triathletes will gather in Chungju, North Chungcheong Province, some 150 kilometers south of Seoul, for the Ironman 70.3 Chungju race scheduled for Aug. 14.
The Chungju race will be a half Ironman triathlon race, consisting of 1.9 kilometers of swimming, 90 kilometers of cycling and 21.1 kilometers of running in eight hours and 30 minutes. The race will begin 6 a.m.
The organizing committee said the Chungju race will be very competitive as the top 30 athletes will be given tickets for competing to next year’s Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga race. The total purse of the race will be $15,000.
