The Baltimore Orioles’ Korean outfielder Kim Hyun-soo recorded his first Major League Baseball (MLB) RBI, helping his team to win against the Kansas City Royals 8-3 at the Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, Sunday (KST).
Batting ninth, Kim hit a single off Royals starter Kris Medlen’s first pitch in the top of the second inning to score J. J. Hardy from third. It was Kim’s fourth MLB game appearance and first start in 10 days.
Kim ended the game 2-for-4 after hitting an infield single in the eighth. With two hits, Kim has recorded a batting average of .500 (5-for-10).
Meanwhile, St. Louis Cardinals reliever Oh Seung-hwan had three strikeouts while throwing an inning against the San Diego Padres in an 11-2 win.
