Korean-Australian rookie Lee Min-jee won her first LPGA Tour title on Monday in the Kingsmill Championship held in the United States.
Lee, 19, shot a four-round total of 15-under 269 to beat South Korean golfer Ryu So-yeon by two strokes in the tournament held at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia. In the final fourth round, Lee shot 6-under 65.
This is the first LPGA Tour title for the teen golfer who became professional last year. She took home US$195,000 in award money.
Lee drew attention during her amateur career, when she competed with Lydia Ko for the top spot. She once ranked No. 1 among amateur players in February 2014. (Yonhap)
