Actress-boxer delays Rio drea

Actress Lee Si-young, who is also an amateur boxer, failed to pass the national team tryout Saturday, delaying her hopes of competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

During the second 2015 national team tryout held in Namhae, South Gyeongsang Province, the 33-year-old suffered a 1-2 loss by decision to Chang Yoo-jung in women's 51 kilogram class first round.

Lee has earned a cap in 48 kilogram class in April 2013, but failed to retain it after being defeated in the final of the annual national team tryout.

She picked up the sport to perform as a boxer in a drama, which failed to air, and garnered public attention after clinching several amateur titles from 2011 to 2012 in the 48 kilogram class.

Lee has been suffering with chronic shoulder dislocation, which forced her to give up playing in last year's National Sports Festival and spread rumor that her challenge to the sport has been ended. However, she switched her stance from southpaw to orthodox and lifted weights to compete in Saturday's tryout.

Though she failed to pass this tryout, Lee still has a chance to represent Korea as a boxer in Rio, if she passes the 2016 national team tryout scheduled for November.

Yeom records 100 goals and assists

Suwon Samsung Bluewings' Yeom Ki-hun on Saturday became the 20th man to record 100 or more combined goals and assists in the K-League.

The left-footed midfielder replaced Leo to appear in the 19th minute of second half during his side's K-League Classic game against Incheon United and scored a decider 28 minutes later.

The goal was his 44th goal in the K-League. Adding 56 assists he made so far in 206 appearances, he became the 5th player active in the league with more than 100 goals and assists, following Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors' Lee Dong-gook, Eninho, FC Seoul's Molina and Jung Jo-gook.

Lee is leading the points table with 167 goals and 61 assists and seven others between Lee and 8th-placed Eninho, 81 goals and 64 assists, are all retired or moved to other leagues.
