Kim Yu-na has added U.S. figure skater Evan Lysacek to a gold-medal winning line-up for her ice skating show, her agency announced Monday.
According to All That Sports, the 26-year-old Lysacek, who triumphed in the men’s singles at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, will perform for the first time in Kim’s ice show, “E1 All That Skates Spring 2012,” from May 4 to 6 in Seoul.
The Chicago native will join China’s Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo who topped the podium in the pairs and Kim who claimed the women’s singles title.
In addition, the show will feature former Olympic champions Stephane Lambiel of Switzerland and Canada’s Jamie Sale and David Pelletier. Lambiel, a regular fixture at Kim’s ice show took the men’s singles gold medal in Turin, Italy in 2006, while the Canadian pair won in Salt Lake City, the United States.
Other high-profile figure skaters will also perform in front of local fans, who have a growing thirst for figure skating, with Kim taking an indefinite break from competitions.
2011 world champion Patrick Chan of Canada, reigning Grand Prix Final champion Caroline Kostner of Italy and American Alissa Czisny, who won the Grand Prix Final in 2010, will all appear.
Russians Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov will make their first appearance in Kim’s ice show.
It will also feature Korean skaters Kwak Min-jeong, who had a top-10 finish in the last three Four Continents Championships, Kim Hae-jin, seen as a hot prospect to succeed Kim Yu-na, and Kim Jin-seo, who won at the Korean Figure Skating Championships in January.
Yu-na plans to introduce two new programs, choreographed by David Wilson, in Seoul.
