Cho Chung-yun, president of the Korea Football Federation (KFA), has taken the helm of the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) for a two-year term, officials said Saturday.

The EAFF held a general assembly on Saturday in Seoul and named Cho as its next president, replacing Junji Ogura of Japan's football body.

The EAFF established in 2002 has 10 member countries, including South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and North Korea, and its presidency rotates among South Korea, Japan and China in every two years.

North Korea did not attend the Seoul meeting, according to officials.

Meanwhile, the EAFF decided to donate US$30,000 to quake-stricken Japan.

The KFA said it will contribute $100,000 and donate a part of the proceeds of a friendly match between South Korea and Honduaras on March 25 in Seoul. (Yonhap)
