Lee Chung-yong of Bolton says not considering transfer

Lee Chung-yong of Bolton Wanderers denied rumors on Sunday that he is currently considering a transfer to another team, saying he wants to continue to learn at the English football club, according to Yonhap News Agency.

The 22-year-old, who scored two goals for the South Korean national team in the World Cup soccer finals in South Africa, is considered one of the top rising stars in the world football scene. Rumors have since circulated that the right winger has received an offer from Liverpool among others.

Before departure for England at Incheon International Airport, Lee told reporters that "there's still much for me to learn in Bolton, so I haven't given any serious thought to the matter of a transfer," Yonhap said.

Lee, however, did not completely rule out the possibility of moving to a different club in the future, it said.

"As I do my best to work with what's given to me, chances will come and I will take them," he was quoted as saying. "Money is important, and it'd be good to play for a big team like one in the Champions League, but most of all I want to go where I can develop myself."

이청용(22.볼턴)이 25일 자신만의 이적 조건을 내걸었다.

이청용은 다른 팀에서 이적 제의가 오더라도 자신은 알 수가 없다고 잘라 말하면서도 "아직은 볼턴에서 배울 게 많아 구체적으로 이적을 생각해 본 적이 없다. 지금 주어진 환경에 최선을 다하다보면 기회가 올 것이고 그때 잡겠다"고 포부를 밝혔다.

한국 일정을 모두 마친 이청용은 인천국제공항을 통해 영국으로 돌아가기에 앞서 "돈도 중요하고 챔피언스리그 같은 큰 무대에서 뛸 수 있는 팀도 좋지만 무엇보다 내가 발전할 수 있는 팀으로 가고 싶다"고 말했다.

이청용은 그간 리버풀 등 이적설이 끊임없이 제기되어왔다.
