Park Chu-young of AS Monaco was named one of the three best players of the week by an Italian newspaper.
La Gazzetta dello Sport selected Park, Guti of Real Madrid and Arjen Robben of FC Bayern Munich, as the week's top three, Wednesday (KST).
The Korean international striker notched two goals in a 3-2 win over local rival OGC Nice Sunday (KST). The 24-year-old has helped his team win four straight and go unbeaten in seven, to move up to fifth (12-3-7) in the standings in France.
The newspaper said Park is improving his value in Europe just as Park Ji-sung of Manchester United did upon arriving on the continent.
Park Chu-young was also selected to the best 11 of the week by French sports publications Lequipe.fr, Mazifoot.fr and Sport24.com.
The Korean striker recorded five goals with five assists last season, but already has eight goals with three assists this season.
Park will be seeking his ninth against AS Saint-Etienne in the 23rd round of the league at home on Monday.
