Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung has been selected to play at the Idolo Cup, an anti-racism charity football event.
According to its Web site Thursday, the 28-year-old South Korean has teamed up with retired stars Zinedine Zidane of France and Pavel Nedved of the Czech Republic on the European team to face the African-born All-Star players at Stadio Olimpico in Turin, Italy.
United teammates Patrice Evra and Anderson have joined Park on the team led by Italian football coach Marcello Lippi.
Park is the only Asian footballer on the squad, which also includes Alberto Aquilani of Liverpool, Sebastian Giovinco of Juventus and Antonio Di Natale of Udinese.
The African team has formed a strong unit with the continent's top players from the European leagues.
Chelsea's Didier Drogba, Michael Essien, Jon Obi Mikel, Salomon Kalou and Florent Malouda, Emanuel Adebayor of Manchester City, Papa Bouba Diop of Portsmouth and Patrick Vieira of Inter will play for Mario Beretta's side.
Park has participated in several charity all-star matches in the past.
While playing for PSV Eindhoven, Park played in a match in Barcelona, Spain in February 2005 to help victims of Hurricane Katrina.
And United played in a match against the European All-Stars to commemorate the EU's 50th Anniversary in March 2007.
