Park Tae-hwan Eliminated in 1,500m Freestyle

South Korean swimming hopeful Park Tae-hwan failed to advance to the final round of 1,500 meter freestyle event at the World Championships held in Rome on Saturday.

The 20-year-old was eliminated in the preliminary round as he finished ninth overall in 15:00.87. Only top eight swimmers advance to the finals. The 800-meter freestyle winner Jiang Lin of China topped in 14:47.51.

As a result, Park has failed to get any medal in his three man's freestyle competitions at the Rome World Championships_ 200 meters, 400 meters and 1,500 meters.
