Wyverns Kim Wins First Career Golden Glove

SK Wyverns lefty Kim Kwang-hyun has earned his first career Golden Glove.

The 20-year-old, who helped his team win the Korean Series for the second straight year, ran away with 272 votes out of 346 to beat out runner-up Yoon Seok-min, who received 44.

Kim led the league in wins and strikeouts with 16 and 150, respectively, and his ERA of 2.39 was the second best in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO).

Kim, a second-year pro, also won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

At catcher, Kang Min-ho of the Lotte Giants beat out four-time winner Park Kyung-wan of the Wyverns.

Designated hitter Hong Sung-heon, who moved to the Giants via free agency from the Doosan Bears, won his third title, while Bears third baseman Kim Dong-joo received his fourth glove.

Giants import Karim Garcia, Bears' Kim Hyun-soo and Lee Jong-wook were honored as outfielders.

Hanwah Eagles first baseman Kim Tae-kyun, and second baseman Cho Sung-hwan and shortstop Park Ki-hyuk both from Giants also received awards.
