Lee Seung-yeop batted 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs to help the Yomiuri Giants beat the Hanshin Tigers 6-4 in the Japanese Central League Saturday in Nishinomiya, Japan.

Lee, who played first base and batted fifth, hit a two-run homer to center against Tigers lefty Iwata Minoru in the third inning.

``I didn't know that the long ball went over the fence,'' Lee said.

Lee, who extended his hitting streak to seven games, later hit a two-run single against Tigers reliever Watanabe Ryo in the fourth to extend the Giants' lead to 6-2. He added another hit in the sixth and improved his batting average to .250 this season to go with 25 RBIs.

The Korean slugger needs two more home runs to reach the 10-homer mark for the fifth straight year in the Japanese league.

With the win, the Giants tied the Tigers for first place in the Central League standings.

``We couldn't lose the game'' Giants manager Hara Tatsunori said. ``We are very happy to win. Four RBIs from Lee was tremendous for us.''
