Shimizu S-Pulse forward Cho Jae-jin will not transfer to Netherlands’ FC Utrecht.
``Due to the transfer fee I gave up my move,’’ Cho, 25, said after the second day practice for the national football team in Jeju.
``While talking about the fee, my salary was lowered too much.’’
He added: ``Although my agent is still in negotiations with other teams, next January we will restart talks on the move.’’
His contract with the Japanese team will expire in January, which means a new team doesn’t have to pay a transfer fee for Cho.
The Dutch team showed strong interest in the Korean striker with manager Foeke Booy visiting Korea to watch a friendly match against the Netherlands on June 2.
