Since reopening in July following renovations, the Incheon Free Economic Zone's (IFEZ) Promotion Center has been attracting attention from both international tourists and local visitors.
According to an IFEZ official, Wednesday, a total of 54,423 people visited the center from January to Sept. 21. Of them, 36,336 people, or about 67 percent, visited after the reopening in July.
In July, 11,386 people visited, followed by 14,984 in August. By Sept. 23, the monthly figure had already exceeded 10,000. Earlier this year, the center recorded 8,410 visitors in January and 9,677 in February.
“The IFEZ Promotion Center is an important platform for Incheon to introduce the city’s future strategies to foreign investors,” the official said. “It has now become a venue for local residents as well as visitors.”
The official added that the newly renovated center presents IFEZ’s history, present and future vision through a mix of digital media, photo exhibitions and dioramas, offering an immersive experience for visitors. New additions, such as a global communication space and wellness city photo zones, further strengthen its role as a promotional and networking platform.
The center also serves as a venue for investment promotion and international engagement. It hosted numerous foreign dignitaries, including Patricia Lock Dawson, mayor of Riverside, California; Carlos Fernando Galan, mayor of Bogota, Colombia; and Marek Repovsky, Slovak ambassador to Korea.
During the 2025 APEC Third Senior Officials’ Meeting and Related Meetings, the center was included in the city’s IFEZ IR Linked Tour Program, allowing senior officials from member economies to learn about IFEZ’s strengths and future plans.
Last month, high-level officials and business leaders from the United States, New Zealand, Vietnam and Japan visited the center, where they were introduced to major cultural projects.
For local residents, the center’s IFEZ Light Tunnel is one of the most popular features. The 21-meter-long tunnel, standing 4 meters high, is equipped with large LED installations on the walls and floor. It showcases a four-minute immersive video illustrating IFEZ’s development story and its vision as a wellness city.
The center is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. It is closed on Mondays, national holidays and during holiday periods such as Chuseok and the Lunar New Year.
